Varsity vs Mattoon High School Win (5-0) MS moved to 5-3-2 with a home win against the Green Wave of Mattoon. The girls had another strong outing. They controlled possession and consistently were able to create great offensive chances. Each line won their matchups, leading the Bulldogs to outshoot their opponent 16-1. Ella Walk and Izzy Lietz both had very effective days in the attacking half. Gwen Cambron had a goal and an assist while Grace Binkley and Hadley Groteleuschen both had goals. Hannah Creel was also able to find two assists to help lift the Bulldogs. The mids put in great defensive work against Mattoon's two time all-state midfielder to help keep her focused on defending rather than scoring. (Note the stats have not yet updated, and it incorrectly lists Martin with the assists rather than the correct player: Izzy Lietz.) Lainey Jacobs 5th shutout in 9 games. 1 save
