Varsity vs Dunlap High School Tie Bulldog soccer moved to 4-3-2 with a solid outing against an 8-2-3 Dunlap squad. The girls are starting to play pretty well together. It's the first time since adding Dunlap four seasons back, the Bulldogs have been able to avoid a defeat at the hands of the Eagles. In what was undoubtedly the best defensive outing of the season from the team. Holland Martin and Paislee Welge worked well to anchor the backline. Freshmen Lainey Jacobs had a solid night between the pipes, earning her 4th career shutout in 9 games. Cam Nelson neutralized a fantastic player on the opposing squad, while Hadley Groteleuschen was solid all night long on the opposite defensive side, even able to leak forward and join the attack. Thursday will be a big game for the Bulldogs. They've had a tendency to play to their opponent as opposed to their own ability. Unfortunately, they've painted themselves into a corner, and need to run the conference table after an early road loss to Mount Zion. The Bulldogs will take on Mattoon at 5 pm Thursday night at home. Stats: Lainey Jacobs 7 saves JV-Another strong outing by the undefeated JV squad, winning in dominating fashion, 5-0.
